Team of professionals collaborating during a management training workshop

Management Training that changes how your team actually works

We run short, practical programmes for first-time managers and mid-level leaders across Scotland. No theory dumps. You practise real conversations, real decisions, real feedback loops, then go back to your desk and use them.

Four steps, twelve weeks

Every programme follows the same structure so progress is measurable from day one.

1

Diagnostic conversation

We spend 90 minutes with each participant and their line manager, separately. The goal is to identify two or three specific behaviours that are holding the team back. Not personality types, not abstract competencies: concrete habits like "avoids giving corrective feedback" or "runs meetings without a stated outcome." This conversation shapes the entire programme.

2

Workshop blocks

Groups of six to ten people meet for four half-day sessions over eight weeks. Each session focuses on one skill area, chosen from the diagnostics. Participants rehearse real scenarios drawn from their own teams. We record short practice conversations on video so people can watch themselves back, which is uncomfortable and extremely useful.

3

Between-session assignments

Nobody learns management in a classroom alone. Between workshops, each participant tries one new behaviour with their team and logs what happened. These logs feed into the next session. Accountability is built in because the group discusses each other's attempts openly.

4

Review and next steps

At week twelve, we revisit the original diagnostic with the same line managers. Has the behaviour shifted? Where has it stuck? Participants leave with a written development plan covering the next six months, plus access to a monthly drop-in coaching call for follow-up questions.

Programmes we run

New manager leading a small team discussion

First 100 days for new managers

Designed for people who were promoted in the last year and suddenly have direct reports. Covers delegation, one-to-one meeting structure, giving feedback that people actually hear, and saying no to requests without damaging relationships. We cap groups at eight so everyone gets airtime.

8 weeks, 4 half-days
Mid-level leaders reviewing project plans together

Mid-level leadership intensive

For managers who already have two or more years of experience but feel stuck. The focus shifts to managing other managers, influencing peers without authority, and handling difficult performance conversations. Participants bring live cases from their own organisations and work through them in pairs.

12 weeks, 6 half-days
Facilitator delivering a bespoke in-house training session

In-house team programme

We design a programme around your organisation's specific challenges. Recent examples include a housing association that needed its supervisors to handle tenant complaints with more confidence, and a tech firm whose engineering leads struggled to run productive retrospectives. Minimum group size is five.

Questions people ask us

Do you deliver online or only face to face?
Both. About half our cohorts run entirely over video calls, which works well for distributed teams. Face-to-face sessions happen at our base in Castle Corkery or at your premises anywhere in Scotland. We can mix formats too: diagnostic calls on Zoom, workshops in person.
How much does a programme cost?
The "First 100 days" open programme is £1,450 per person. The mid-level intensive is £2,200 per person. In-house programmes are quoted per cohort after the diagnostic stage, typically ranging from £6,000 to £14,000 depending on group size and duration. We invoice in two instalments.
What size of organisation do you usually work with?
Most of our clients have between 30 and 500 employees. We have worked with larger organisations on specific departmental programmes, but our sweet spot is growing companies where managers are stretched and formal training has been patchy until now.
Can you help if we only have one or two managers to train?
Yes. Individual managers join our open cohorts, where they train alongside people from other organisations. This has an added benefit: they learn from problems and contexts they would never encounter in their own company.
What qualifications do your trainers hold?
Our lead facilitators hold CIPD Level 7 qualifications and have a minimum of eight years of line management experience themselves. We think the management experience matters more than the certificate. Trainers who have never managed a team tend to teach theory that falls apart on Monday morning.
Is there any accreditation or certificate at the end?
Participants receive a completion certificate from Quality Lead Education. The programme is CPD-accredited, so the hours count towards continuing professional development records. We do not offer ILM or CMI accreditation at this time, though we are exploring it for 2027.
